Fahey & Froehlich Honored by Northeast-10 for Performance in Northeastern Spring Open

WALTHAM, Mass. – Two members of the Bentley University women's outdoor track and field team, junior Caitlin Fahey (Bridgewater/Coyle-Cassidy HS) and freshman Tatiana Froehlich (Newton/ Newton North HS), have been recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference for their performance in Saturday's season-opening Northeastern Husky Spring Open.

Fahey was named the NE-10 co-Women's Track Athlete of the Week, and Froehlich was the selection for NE-10 Women's Field Rookie of the Week.

Fahey finished first among 37 competitors in the 800 meters, posting a time of 2:17.48 to best runner-up Frances Brillante of Rhode Island by almost exactly a second.

Fahey's indoor season featured a school record 4:58.63 in the mile during the Boston University Valentine's Invitational.

Froehlich, a member of the women's volleyball team last fall, made her collegiate debut in the discus Saturday and elevated herself to a tie for fifth on Bentley's all-time list with a throw of 110 feet, four inches. That effort was good for seventh overall in a field of 21.

This weekend, Fahey will compete in the Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State and Froehlich will throw at the Tufts Snowflake Classic.
