Preview: Bentley Hosts Saint Anselm in First Round of NE10 Women’s Tennis Championships

The Matchup: Bentley University and Saint Anselm will square off on Sunday afternoon in the first round of the Northeast-10 Women's Tennis Championships. The match will take place at 3:00 pm, indoors at the Woburn Racquet Club.

The Falcons are the No. 8 seed in the tournament and the Hawks the No. 9 seed. As the higher seed, Bentley is hosting the match.

This will be the second time this season the two teams are squaring off. They met back on March 25, in what was Bentley's season opener, and the Falcons came away with a 5-2 victory in Manchester.

In that victory, Bentley won the doubles point by taking the No. 1 and No. 2 matches. They then won four of six in singles to claim the 5-2 victory.

In doubles Bentley's No. 1 pairing on the day was Makena Romagnano and Anna Lang, who earned a 6-2 victory. In the No. 2 match, Remi LeSage and Zoe Chin blanked Maikah Bulpitt and Dominique Bolduc, 6-0.

Bentley's winners in singles were Adriana Hiraldo in No. 1, Alessa Matuty in No. 3, Grace Bennett in No. 5 and Cindy Luo in No. 6.

 

NE10 Championships: Bentley and Saint Anselm is one of two first round matches on Sunday. The other is Assumption against AIC.

Franklin Pierce earned the top seed after going 9-0 in the regular season. They await the winner of Bentley and Saint Anselm in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. Adelphi is the No. 2 seed, and they will play the winner of Assumption-AIC.

The other two quarterfinal matches are already set. No. 4 Le Moyne will host No. 5 Southern N.H. and No. 3 Stonehill will host No. 6 New Haven.

The semifinals are scheduled for Friday, April 30 and the championship match on Sunday, May 2.
