Bentley Picks Up Northeast-10 Win Over Saint Anselm, 7-2

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Back in action after a six day layoff, the Bentley women's tennis team picked up a 7-2 victory on the road over Northeast-10 rival Saint Anselm on Tuesday.

The Falcons won two of three in doubles, then sealed the deal with five wins in singles.

Seniors Katie Brandow (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) and Alexia Petruzziello (North Haven, Conn.North Haven) both stood out in singles. Brandow didn't drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 sweep in the No. 5 match, and Petruzziello dropped just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the No. 6 match.

Sophomore Tiffany Suchanek (Waterville, Maine/Waterville) cruised to a 6-0 victory in the first set of her No. 4 match, then battled to a 7-6 (7-2) win in the second set to claim her No. 4 match. Freshman Evann Welty (Wayzata, Minn./Mount Westonka) claimed her second win of the day in No. 3 singles by a 6-2, 6-2 score. Earlier in the day, she teamed with Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) for a 9-7 triumph in No. 2 doubles.

Junior Rachel Hui (Hong Kong) continued her strong fall with a 6-3, 6-2 victory in No. 2 singles.

The victory improved Bentley's record to 7-3 overall and 4-3 NE10. They're back on the courts tomorrow when they head up to Vermont to battle Saint Michael's.
