Bentley Closes Out Fall Season with 5-1 Victory Over Le Moyne

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley women's tennis team closed out its fall season on a winning note Saturday with a 5-1 victory over Le Moyne. Three different players won both of their matches, as the Falcons finish the fall season with records of 4-0 both overall and in the Northeast-10.

Bentley won two of the three doubles matches, winning the top-two flights. Sophomore Ludmila Yamus (Deer Park, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) and freshman Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) won in the top-spot, 8-3 over Kristine Kenny and Jessica Geary. Sophomores Catherine Gianino (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) and Brittani Hetyei (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) had a 9-8 (8) win in the second-flight over Dominique Canale and Christina Perry.

In singles it was much of the same for Bentley. Yamus, Gianino and Petrini all had straight sets wins in the top-three matches. Yamus bested Perry 6-3, 6-2 in the top-flight, Gianino defeated Kenny 6-1, 6-0 in the second-flight and Petrini beat Canale 6-2, 6-3 in the third-flight.

The fourth-sixth flight singles matches were not completed.
