Bentley Women Extend Winning Streak to 28 with Close Win over Conn College

WALTHAM, Mass. – Seniors Caroline Logozzo (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield HS) and Ariana Revelas (Snyder, N.Y./Nardin Academy) each won two individual events, as did sophomore Lucy Slowe (Millis/Millis HS), as the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team stayed unbeaten and extended its dual win streak to 28 with a 152-142 win over Connecticut College Sunday afternoon at the Dana Center.

Down by as many as 16 points early and by five after ten events, Bentley jumped in front by outscoring the Camels 15-4 in the 200 yard breaststroke and never trailed again. Revelas took first in 2:31.48 and junior Selin Karadeniz (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington HS) followed in second (2:34.47).

Revelas also posted a winning swim in the 100 breast, finishing in 1:10.00.

Slowe's victories came in the 1000 freestyle (10:39.85) and the 500 free (5:13.17). She was also the runner-up in the 100 free (53.82).

Bentley outscored the visitors 32-0 in the two one-meter diving competitions with Logozzo winning both with scores of 193.46 and 242.85. Her combined score of 426.31 broke the pool record for 11 dives.

The other winners for the Falcons were a pair of freshmen, Kathryn Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./ Suffern HS) and Dariana Gonzales (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS). Galvin took the 50 free in 24.81 seconds and Gonzales finished first in the 200 individual medley with a 2:11.73. Gonzales also had a pair of seconds, in the 200 free (1:55.58) and in the 200 back (2:07.48).

Connecticut College was led by Maddie Ford, who won three individual races, helped her team capture the 400 free relay and broke three pool records (200 free, 100 free, 400 free relay).

The next action for the 7-0 Falcons is at Babson College Tuesday evening.
