Bentley Women Swim Past Brandeis for 25th Consecutive Victory

WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshmen and sophomores earned individual wins in nine different events as the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team opened its home schedule with a 205-79 victory over Brandeis University Friday night in the Dana Center pool.

The win was the 25th straight for the Falcons, who are off to a 4-0 start this season.

Sophomores Lucy Slowe (Millis/Millis HS) and Emily Sweet (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North HS) were among the double winners for the Falcons. Slowe captured the 100 yard backstroke in 1:00.13 and the 500 free in 5:11.42, a Northeast-10 Conference season-best. Sweet's first-place showings came in the 200 back (2:10.10, also an NE10 best) and the 200 individual medley (2:15.48).

Slowe also swam the opening leg on Bentley's winning 200 free relay team (1:41.94) and anchored the 400 medley relay that prevailed in 4:05.31. Sweet was the Falcons' lead-off in the 400 medley.

Freshman Kathryn Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS) and Mary Huminski (Madison, Conn./ Daniel Hand HS) were also double winners for Bentley. Galvin was the first to touch in both the 200 free (2:00.26) and the 100 free (54.88) while Huminski swept the diving. She earned 257.62 points from the one-meter board and 218.17 from the three-meter.

Bentley's fifth to win two events was senior Ariana Revelas (Snyder, N.Y./Nardin Academy), who captured the 100 breaststroke (1:09.84) and the 200 breast (2:30.59) after helping the Falcons take first in the 400 medley.

 Rounding out the list of Falcon winners was junior Julia Ball (Phoenix, Md./Roland Park Country School) in the 1000 free (11:28.90) and freshman Dariana Gonzalez (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) in the 50 free (25.44).

The next action for the Falcons is next Saturday at home, with Keene State providing the opposition.
