MacNeil, Viator Help Bentley Improve to 5-0

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University captured 14 of 16 events, including two individual wins apiece from senior Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) and junior Paige MacNeil (Branford, Conn./Branford HS), and improved to 5-0 on the season during a 208-80 victory over Brandeis University Friday night at Brandeis.

Viator earned victories in the 1000 yard freestyle and the 200 backstroke. Her time in the 200 back, 2:11.65, was the second best recorded in the Northeast-10 Conference so far this season, and her 11:04.88 in the 1000 was the fifth best.

MacNeil posted the fastest free in the NE10, 1:58.42, and also recorded a winning swim in the 100 butterfly (1:01.58). Her night also included swimming the opening leg in Bentley's winning medley relay that finished in 4:09.25.

The relay also included junior Ari Revelas (Snyder, N.Y./Nardin Academy) and freshmen Rona Mejiritski (Bowling Green, Ohio/ Bowling Green HS) and Lucy Stowe (Millis/Millis HS).

Revelas and Slowe were also double-winners for Bentley. Revelas swept the two breaststroke events with her time of 2:33.11 in the 200 third best in the NE10 and the 110.92 in the 100 fourth best. Slowe turned in winning times of 1:01.96 in the 100 backstroke and 55.20 in the 100 free. Her latter effort put her at third in the event on the NE10 performance list.

Also winning individual swimming events for Bentley were Mejiritski in the 200 fly (2:12.83), senior Brooke Jameson (Bedford/Bedford HS) in the 500 free (5:19.87, 3rd best in the NE10) and senior Kate Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS) in the 200 individual medley Her time of 2:13.40 was the best posted in the NE10 thus far.

Sophomore Ryann Driscoll (Marblehead/Marblehead HS) captured both one-meter diving competitions with a combined score of 344.15.

               Bentley, which has now won 15 straight duals, will compete in the three-day Gompei Invitational at WPI beginning Nov. 30.
