Two Wins by Sweet Helps Bentley Outswim Merrimack, 165.5-96.5

ANDOVER, Mass. – Eight different swimmers, including double-winner Emily Sweet (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North HS), won individual events as Bentley University made it 14 consecutive dual victories with a 165.5-96.5 win over Merrimack College in women's swimming action Saturday afternoon at the Andover YMCA.

Sweet, a freshman, earned victories in both the 200 yard freestyle (2:02.01) and the 200 individual medley (2:17.87).

In the other freestyle events, Bentley received wins from senior Kate Kaduboski (Dedham/ Dedham HS) in the 50 (26.17 seconds), sophomore Julia Ball (Phoenix, Md./Roland Park Country School) in the 500 (5:30.27) and senior Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) in the 1,000 (11:05.88). Viator's time elevated her to fifth on the Northeast-10 performance list for the season.

Bentley's other individual winners were junior Ari Revelas (Snyder, N.Y./Nardin Academy) in the 50 breaststroke (32.84), freshman Rona Mejiritski (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green HS) in the 100 butterfly (1:02.40), sophomore Selin Karadeniz (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Arlington HS) in the 100 breast (1:13.25) and junior Paige MacNeil (Branford, Conn./Branford HS) in the 50 fly (28.73).

The Falcons also swept the two relays with junior Lea Guldemond (West Newbury/Central Catholic HS) part of both.

Bentley, 4-0, will swim at Brandeis Friday at 6 pm.
