Viator & Mejiritski Double as Bentley Downs Saint Rose

TROY, N.Y. – Senior Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) and freshman Rona Mejiritski (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green HS) both won a pair of individual events as the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team made it 13 straight dual wins, 210-82 over The College of Saint Rose Sunday afternoon at RPI.

Viator set the pace in both the 200 yard backstroke and the 100 butterfly, two of the five events Bentley had the top three finishers. She swam the 200 back in 2:11.68, the second fastest in the Northeast-10 Conference this season, and the 100 butterfly in 1:02.27.

Mejiritski led a 1-2-3 showing in the 500 freestyle, with her 5:23.40 third on the NE10 performance list, and captured the 200 free in 2:00.45, fifth best in the conference to date. Her afternoon also helped Bentley win the two relays (4:08.63 in the 400 medley, 3:47.29 in the 400 free) with junior Paige MacNeil (Branford, Conn./Branford HS) and freshman Lucy Slowe (Millis, Mass./Millis HS) also participating in both.

The other first-place finishes in swimming events for Bentley were achieved by senior Brooke Jameson (Bedford, Mass./Bedford HS) in the 1000 free (11:13.90), freshman Hanna Ryan (North Royalton, Ohio/Brecksville Broadview Heights HS) in the 100 free (57.09) and freshman Emily Sweet (Nashua, N.H./Nashua HS) in the 200 individual medley (2:17.26, fifth best in the conference).

Bentley also swept the diving with junior Caroline Logozzo (Wethersfield, Conn./ Wethersfield HS) taking the one-meter with a score of 188.62 and sophomore Ryann Driscoll (Marblehead, Mass./ Marblehead HS) the three-meter (198.87).

Next Saturday, Bentley will take on Merrimack College on the road.
