Kaduboski Named Scholar All-America by CSCAA; Jameson & Viator Also Honored
WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's Kate Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS), a rising senior, has been named a first-team Scholar All-America by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
Also recognized by the CSCAA, as honorable mention Scholar All-Americas, were two of Kaduboski's classmates, Brooke Jameson (Bedford/Bedford HS) and Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/ Lubbock HS).
First-team honors are bestowed among those student-athletes who have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or better and competed at their national championship. Requirements for honorable mention recognition are attaining a 3.50 GPA and achieving a "B" time standard.
Kaduboski represented Bentley in the NCAA Division II Championships in both the 400 yard and 200 yard individual medley, where she placed 23rd and 42nd, respectively.
During the Northeast-10 Championships, Kaduboski earned gold in both the 400 IM (4:26.67) and the 800 free relay (7:38.06), with both times school records. The accountancy major was also a silver medalist in the 200 IM (school record 2:05.05), the 200 backstroke (2:03.52) and two relays.
Viator and Jameson both earned their "B" cut times in the 500 freestyle while finishing second and third, respectively, in the Northeast-10 Championships. Viator broke the school record with a time of 5:04.30 while Jameson followed in 5:04.83.
Viator, who majors in both mathematics and business studies, also finished third in both the 1650 free and the 200 breaststroke. Jameson, a marketing major, was part of the Bentley's gold medal-winning 800 free relay team and the Falcons' silver medal-winning 400 free relay.
Kaduboski and Viator were previously honored for their success in the classroom with selection to the Academic All-Northeast-10 women's swimming and diving team.
Bentley posted a 10-1 record during the 2017-18 season and finished third in the conference championships.
