WORCESTER, Mass. – In her final swim as a collegian, Bentley University senior Anne Warren (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron School) captured the gold medal in the 200 yard butterfly for the third time in four years Sunday during the final day of the 2018 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at WPI's Sports and Recreation Center.

Warren, with a time of 2:06.81, reached the wall more than a second ahead of runner-up Aubrey Bailey of Southern Connecticut State. Warren had previously earned the 200 fly gold in 2015 and 2017.

As a team, Bentley finished third, the eighth straight year that coach Mary Kay Samko's squad has been in the top three. Southern Connecticut State pulled away late to edge Assumption College for team honors, 876-830.5, and the Falcons followed with 647.5. Pace University took fourth in the ten-team field with a 577.5.

In addition to Warren's gold, Sunday's highlights included three silver and two bronze medals for the Falcons.

Juniors Kate Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS) and Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) were second and third, respectively, in the 200 backstroke. Kaduboski finished in 2:03.52 and Viator turned in a 2:04.09.

Earlier in the evening, Viator finished third in the 1650 free, setting a pair of school records in the process. Her time of 17:32.18 bettered a mark that had stood since 2012 by nearly 15 seconds, and her 10:36.16 over the first 1,000 shaved about a half-second off that record, which had also lasted since 2012.

Senior Emily Niemiec (Meriden, Conn./Francis T. Maloney HS) was the silver medalist in the 200 breaststroke, an event she had won each of the last three years. This time around, she posted a 2:22.38 but was edged out by just six-hundredths of a second by Saint Rose's Gabrialla Ficano.

In the final event of the championships, Niemiec and Kaduboski helped Bentley earn silver in the 400 free relay. They teamed with junior Brooke Jameson (Bedford/Bedford HS) and sophomore Paige MacNeil (Branford, Conn./Branford HS) for a 3:33.87. The medal was the 24th and final of her standout career for Niemiec.

Sophomore Caroline Logozzo (Wethersfield, Conn./Wethersfield HS) took fourth in the three-meter diving (305.87) and the Falcons had a pair of sixth-place finishes, junior Hannah Rauch (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park HS) in the 1650 free (17:50.37) and Jameson in the 100 free (53.48). Freshman Riann Driscoll (Marblehead/Marblehead HS) placed seventh in the three-meter diving (254.97).

During the four-day event, Bentley amassed three golds, seven silvers and eight bronzes while setting a total of seven school records. Kaduboski (two gold, four silver) and Niemiec (one gold, three silver, two bronze) each totaled six medals while Warren, Viator and MacNeil each had four.

Kaduboski was Bentley's top scorer with 54 points while both Niemiec and Viator finished with 49. Warren rounded out the Falcons' top four with 47.
