Kaduboski Triples as Bentley Women Return from Break to Best Pace, 171-117

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Sophomore Kate Kaduboski (Dedham, Mass./Dedham HS) captured three individual events, all in convincing fashion, and led off the Falcons' winning 200-yard medley relay as the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team began their second-semester schedule with a 171-117 win at Pace University Wednesday.

Bentley, which was returning from a month-long exam and holiday break, improved to 6-1 while stretching its dual win streak to six.

Bentley opened the meet by winning the 200 medley in 1:55.69 with Kaduboski followed into the pool by junior Emily Niemiec (Meriden, Conn./Francis T. Maloney HS) and seniors Nicole Hellstern (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug HS) and Kaitlin McGahie (Boylston, Mass./Tahanto Reg. HS).

Kaduboski's individual wins came in the 100 backstroke (1:01.88), the 500 freestyle (5:21.09) and the 200 individual medley (2:14.96). In all three, she reached the wall more than three seconds before her nearest competitor.

Niemiec and sophomore Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) both doubled while also earning a second and participating on a winning relay. Viator took first in the 200 backstroke (2:13.59) and 100 butterfly (1:02.92), leading a 1-2-3 Bentley showing in the latter. Niemiec posted wins in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.01) and 200 breast (2:34.73).

Bentley's other individual win came from junior Anne Warren (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron HS) in the 200 fly (1:02.92).

The Falcons wrapped up the meet by winning the 400 free relay in 3:16.60. That quartet consisted of Viator, McGahie, sophomore Brooke Jameson (Bedford, Mass./Bedford HS) and freshman Lea Guldemond (West Newbury, Mass./Central Catholic HS).

Bentley is back at it Saturday afternoon at Keene State.
