McGahie a Triple-Winner as Bentley Swims Past Pace and Merrimack

WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior Kaitlin McGahie (Boylston/Tahanto Reg. HS) was a triple winner and senior All-America Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) swept the diving as the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team began the 2016 portion of its schedule by sweeping Pace University and Merrimack College Saturday afternoon at the Dana Center pool.

The Falcons, who won 12 of 16 events, took care of Pace 185-114 and overpowered Merrimack 239-37 to improve to 7-1 on the season.

McGahie was the first to reach the wall in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:11.49), the 50 freestyle (25.15) and the 100 free (54.60). Mancini registered winning scores of 270.82 from the one-meter board and 274.57 off the three-meter.

Winning a pair of individual events were sophomore Anne Warren (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron HS) and freshman Kate Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS). Warren took first in the 200 butterfly (2:15.81) and the 100 fly (1:03.00) while Kaduboski captured both the 100 backstroke (1:00.98) and the 200 back (2:11.52). Kaduboski was also part of Bentley's winning 200 medley relay team, along with freshman Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) and sophomores Emily Niemiec (Meriden, Conn./Francis T. Maloney HS) and Jessica Chen (Darien, Conn./Darien HS).

Niemiec led a 1-2-3 Bentley showing in the 100 individual medley (2:15.00) and both Chen and McGahie were both part of the Falcons' winning 200 free relay, along with freshmen Brooke Jameson (Bedford/Bedford HS) and Hannah Rauch (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park HS).

Bentley will remain at home to host St. Michael's Wednesday at 3 pm.
