Wilde Named NE-10 Women’s Diver of the Year; Danehy Three-Peats as Coach of the Year

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior Paige Wilde (Naugatuck, Conn./Holy Cross HS) has been named the Women's Diver of the Year in the Northeast-10 Conference and her coach, Rick Danehy, was recognized as the conference's Women's Diver of the Year for the third consecutive year.

Wilde, the only NE-10 woman to compete in the NCAA Division II pre-qualification meet, swept the women's diving events during the Northeast-10 championships in February. She prevailed in the one-meter by about 40 points with a score of 404.60 and had a winning margin of 53.90 in the three-meter after posting a 437.60.

Wilde, who spent the fall 2013 semester studying abroad in Australia, ranks in the top four in program history for the highest scores off both boards. She received NE-10 Women's Diver of the Week honors eight times and was the NE-10 Women's Diver of the Meet at the championships.

Before capturing the NE-10 titles this season, Wilde's previous best finishes were second in the one meter and third in the three-meter, both as a freshman in 2012.

Danehy, an Ashland resident who has been Bentley's diving coach since 1996, earned his sixth NE-10 Diving Coach of the Year in the last seven years. In addition to being the women's top coach each of the last three seasons, he's been the NE-10 Men's Diving Coach of the Year three times.
