Nadine Edwards had high expectations for herself when she went off to swim for Bentley University in Waltham, Mass., as a freshman in 2011-12.

But even after spending her Danbury High School days swimming year-round and routinely hitting the pool at 6 a.m., not even Edwards could have anticipated what would happen at Bentley.

Edwards essentially re-wrote Bentley's record books, setting six school records -- three individual (500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle, 1,650 freestyle) and three as part of a relay team (200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay, 800 freestyle relay).

"My entire adolescence was all about swimming," Edwards said. "It was all about the 6 a.m. practices and swimming at least two or three hours a day. It became a routine and it's what I've always been used to."
