Le & Mancini Help Bentley Women Improve to 7-0 with 193-106 Win at Saint Rose

ALBANY, N.Y. – Led by junior Amanda Le (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) and freshman Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS), the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team improved to 7-0 with a 193-106 win over the College of Saint Rose Sunday afternoon at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Robison Pool.

Le captured two individual events, and was part of Bentley's winning 200 yard medley relay team, and Mancini swept the diving. All told, the Falcons won 11 of 16 events, including both relays.

The Falcons opened the meet by capturing the 200 medley relay in 1:54.74. Senior Monika Drogosz (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS) led off and was followed into the pool by Le, senior Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) and sophomore Danielle Hellstern (Southbury, Conn./ Pomperaug HS). Drogosz and Hellstern were also part of the Falcons' winning 200 free relay team.

Le also won the two breaststroke events, with times of 1:08.80 in the 100 and 2:25.95 in the 200. She had a winning margin of about one second in the former and more than five seconds in the latter.

With Mancini leading the way, Bentley outscored the Golden Knights 33-5 in the two diving events. She led a 1-2-3-4 Falcon finish in the one-meter with a 251.75, and captured the three-meter by more than 30 points with a 281.05.

Bentley's individual winners were also Drogosz in the 100 backstroke (1:03.36), Hodsdon in the 100 butterfly (1:01.07), junior Caroline Lewis (Westfield, Mass./Westfield HS) in the 200 back (2:18.14), sophomore Nadine Edwards (Danbury, Conn./Danbury HS) in the 1000 free (11:14.24) and freshman Lindsey Goodwin (Staten Island, N.Y./Notre Dame Academy) in the 100 free (57.99).

Bentley will close out the regular season with three straight home matches, beginning Wednesday against Babson College (6:00 pm).
