Bentley Women Sweep Past Bridgewater State to Complete 11-0 Dual Season

WALTHAM, Mass. -- With senior Anne Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS) and freshman Heather Exley (Oceanside, Calif./Vista HS) leading the way, the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team rolled to a 138-109 win over Bridgewater State College Tuesday night at the Dana Center pool to complete an unbeaten dual season.

Bentley won every event against the Bears while pushing the record to 11-0. It's the third time in the last 11 seasons that coach Mary Kay Samko's club has posted an unblemished record, the first time since 2001-02.

Exley was a triple-winner for the Falcons, taking the 1000 yard freestyle in 11:20.77, the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.30 and the 100 individual medley in 1:07.56.

Kaduboski, in the final dual meet of her career, swam to victory in the 50 backstroke (29.23 seconds) and the 50 butterfly (27.62). She also swam the opening leg on Bentley's 200 free relay team, which finished in 1:53.59 and included three other seniors: Elizabeth Heinonen (Bangor, Maine/Bangor HS), Larissa Brewster (Centerville/ Barnstable HS) and Sarah Temple (Topsham, Maine/Cheverus HS).

Sophomore Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) registered first-place finishes in the 50 breaststroke and the 100 free, with times of 31.40 and 58.30 respectively. During the 200 medley relay, Hodsdon also set a pool record in the 50 breast with a time of 30.28 seconds.

Freshman Amy Shin (Lancaster/Nashoba Reg. HS) was also a double-winner for the Falcons, taking the 100 butterfly in 1:04.62 and the 100 backstroke in 1:04.38. In addition, senior Emily Travers (Brentwood, N.H./Exeter HS) had the meet's best scores in both diving events, 252.74 on the one-meter board and 249.67 on the three-meter.

Other individual winners for the Falcons were junior Susie Boretti (Westford/Westford Academy) in the 200 free (2:06.70), sophomore Monika Drogosz (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS) in the 50 free (26.29), freshman Caroline Lewis (Westfield/Westfield HS) in the 500 free (5:44.46) and sophomore Shelly D'Eleo (Enfield, Conn./Suffield Academy) in the three-meter diving.
