Kaduboski, Travers Shine as Unbeaten Bentley Bests Saint Rose, 130-107

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Senior Anne Kaduboski (Dedham,Mass./Dedham HS) and senior Emily Travers (Brentwood, N.H./Exeter HS) each won a pair of individual events as the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team improved to 8-0 with a 130-107 win over the College of Saint Rose Sunday afternoon at the Albany Academy.

Kaduboski won both the 200 yard butterfly and the 200 breaststroke with virtually identical times. She swam the former in 2:12.30 and bettered that by a hundredth of a second in the 200 breast. The Falcon standout was also second in the 200 freestyle, finishing in 2:01.51.

The primary difference between the two teams was in the diving events, with Bentley outscoring the Golden Knights 26-6 off the one-meter board. Travers led the way, capturing both, with her score of 260.45 in the six-meter event an NCAA Division II qualifying performance. Sophomore Abby Mathews (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford HS) finished second to Travers in both.

Junior Susie Boretti (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) captured the 1000 freestyle in 11:22.18, and freshman Amy Shin (Lancaster, Mass./Nashoba Reg. HS) was involved in Bentley's other two first-place finishes. She won the 50 freestyle in 25.75 seconds after swimming the third leg on the Falcons' winning 200 medley relay team. Shin combined with classmate Kellen Power (San Jose, Calif./ Valley Christian HS) and sophomores Monika Drogosz (Unionville, Conn./Farmington HS) and Jessica Hodsdon (Brewer, Maine/Brewer HS) for a winning time of 1:53.94.

Each of those three also helped out with a second-place finish in an individual event. Power swam the 100 free in 55.91 seconds, Hodsdon was second to touch in the 200 individual medley and Drogosz posted a 25.92 in the 50 free.

Bentley will look to continue its perfect dual season Wednesday when it hosts Babson College at 6 pm.
