Easton, Mass. – No. 19 ranked Stonehill scored twice in the second half to eventually overcome a resolute Bentley team in a 2-0 victory for the Skyhawks on Wednesday afternoon.
The Falcons and Skyhawks were locked in a 0-0 game up to the 58th minute, when a goal by midfielder Megan Giambanco broke down Bentley's resistance. A goal by defender Isabella Collentro in the 74th minute provided the final margin.
The Skyhawks, who moved into the national Division II rankings this week, improved their records to 8-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 NE10 this season.
Total shots were 13-7 in favor of Stonehill and corner kicks were 5-2 in favor of the hosts.
Bentley (3-6-1, 2-5 NE10) will look to bounce back on Friday when they host Pace at 3:30 pm.
