Bentley’s McDonald and Millmann Voted to CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Team

Waltham, Mass. – Bentley University's Brandi McDonald (East Bridgewater, Mass./East Bridgewater) and Sammy Millmann (Northport, N.Y./Northport) have been voted to the CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District 1 Women's Soccer Team.

The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Soccer Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

District 1 for Division II can include student-athletes from the Northeast-10, Central Atlantic and East Coast Conferences.

McDonald, a senior, a Millmann, a junior, were both chosen as backs.

McDonald, a team co-captain, showed versatility by playing mostly back this season after she lined up as either a forward or midfielder in 2017 and was among the team leaders in points. In 2018, she started all 15 matches she dressed for and logged the fourth most minutes played on the team.

A four-year starter, she finished her career with 59 matches started and tallied five goals and nine assists for 19 points.

Academically, McDonald is an actuarial science major, with a minor in finance, and has a GPA of 3.78.

Millmann made 15 starts this season and played the third most minutes on team. She also contributed offensively from her position as a back with one goal and two assists. She scored in Bentley's 3-1 win over Le Moyne (Oct. 20), and had assists against Saint Michael's (Sept. 29) and Southern N.H. (Oct 10).

Millmann is a finance and liberal studies major, with a minor in Spanish, and has a 3.87 GPA.

The duo helped Bentley post a 7-6-3 overall record this season, and a 6-6-2 mark in the NE10.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third team (if necessary) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
