Bentley Women’s Soccer to be Captained by Seniors McDonald & Iris

WALTHAM, Mass. – Seniors Brandi McDonald (East Bridgewater, Mass./East Bridgewater) and Meagan Iris (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West) will captain the Bentley women's soccer team for the 2018 season as the Falcons prepare to kick their season off in eight days.

"Our captains Brandi and Meagan have made an impact from the start of their freshman year," said head coach Lauren Lukis." They are great leaders by example; tough, fit and capable of setting the standard necessary to be successful in the NE10. Carly Kohler, our quarterback central midfielder, is also a key leader for us on the field."

McDonald, who plays in either midfield or up front, was one of Bentley's leading scorers last season with two goals and five assists for a total of nine points. She was tied for the team lead in assists, and tied for second in points. She was named to the NE10 All-Academic team following the season, and has been a three year starter for Lukis during her career.

Iris has been a three year starter as well on defense. Last season she played 90 minutes or more in eight games as she was a major contributor to a Bentley defense that helped the team reach the NE10 playoffs. She has started 45 of the 47 matches she's appeared in during her career thus far.

Bentley gets its season underway in earnest on August 30 when they take on Dominican at the Merrimack Kickoff Classic in North Andover. They take on Molloy on September 1st in the second game.
