WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's freshman goalkeeper Kat Hassapis (North Reading, Mass./North Reading) has been named second team All-New England by the NEWISA for Division II, it was announced Thursday.

Hassapis helped Bentley qualify for the Northeast-10 Playoffs as the No. 7 seed, as the team went 6-7-1 in conference matches for 19 points. The Falcons went 8-8-1 overall.

Hassapis started six of Bentley's final eight matches down the stretch and helped the team to a number of key results. The Falcons earned wins over Southern Connecticut, Pace and Stonehill in matches she started, and also earned a 1-1 tie with Southern New Hampshire, which was ranked No. 21 at the time. She made 11 saves in that match.

She was named the NE10 Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week following that performance, and the win over Southern Connecticut. Hassapis was also named to the NE10 All-Rookie team after she finished her freshman campaign with a 4-3-1 record with two shutouts, and a 0.98 goals against average.
