Hassapis Named to NE10 All-Rookie Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshman goalkeeper Kat Hassapis (North Reading, Mass./North Reading) has been named to the NE10 Women's Soccer All-Rookie team, it was revealed on Friday.

Voting for All-Conference teams is conducted by the league's head coaches and is based on the regular season.

Hassapis helped Bentley reach the NE10 playoffs for the first time since 2007. In nine appearances for the Falcons, six of which were starts, she helped the team to four wins.

In those nine games, she posted a 0.98 goals against average and made 51 total saves, with two shutouts. Those two shutouts came in a 1-0 Bentley win over Pace on Oct. 17, and a 1-0 victory at Stonehill on Oct. 25.

She made a season-high 11 saves in the Falcons' 1-1 tie with Southern New Hampshire on Oct. 11, and followed that with nine saves in the team's 2-1 OT win at Southern Connecticut. Those two performances helped earn her both NE10 Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week awards for that week.

Bentley's season came to a close earlier this week with a 2-0 defeat to SNHU in the NE10 Quarterfinals, but they finished the year with an 8-8-1 overall record, its most wins since that 2007 playoff season.
