RINDGE, N.H. – Franklin Pierce junior Maria da Silva scored a 33rd minute goal, and it was enough to give the host Ravens a 1-0 win over the Bentley women's soccer team on Tuesday night.
Da Silva shot home her 4th goal of the season after taking a feed from midfielder Bruna Tavares at the top right corner on the box, and got off a shot to the left post for the goal.
Shots on goal were a slight edge for Franklin Pierce at 5-4. Four different players had the shots for Bentley, with junior Brandi McDonald (East Bridgewater, Mass./East Bridgeater) leading the way for the team with two total. Riane Hunt (Millis, Mass./Millis), Lauren Bean (Newburyport, Mass./Newburyport) and Stephanie Helin (Manchester, Conn./East Catholic) had the other shots on goal for the Falcons.
Goalkeeper Deirdre Macrorie (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) made four saves on the evening .
The Falcons, which fall to 4-5 overall (2-5 NE10) are back on the field Saturday when they host Saint Rose for an 11:30 am kickoff.
