ALBANY, N.Y. – Saint Rose's Sophia Constantine scored a late 83rd minute goal as the host Golden Knights upended the Bentley University women's soccer team 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 action.
The defeat snapped the Falcons' two match winning streak and dropped their records to 7-4-2 overall and 4-4-2 Northeast-10.
The teams were locked in a scoreless match for much of the afternoon until Constantine scored the eventual winner off a redirected shot from 12 yards out.
Bentley's junior goalkeeper Deirdre Macrorie (Winchester, Mass./Winchester HS) had a another strong outing with nine saves. Offensively, senior forward Ana Tantum (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull HS) led the team with three shots on goal. Senior Jenny Lewis (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) and sophomore Meagan Iris (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills) had the team's other two shots on goal.
Bentley will look to bounce back on Tuesday afternoon when they host Le Moyne at 3:30 pm.
