Le Moyne Scores Two Late to Rally Past Bentley

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Le Moyne scored two goals in the final four-plus minutes to rally from 1-0 down for a 2-1 victory over Bentley on Tuesday afternoon in Northeast-10 women's soccer.

Bentley's Ana Tantum (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) scored just 33 seconds after halftime to give them a 1-0 lead, an advantage they held into the 86th minute.

But Le Moyne tied it on a goal by sophomore forward Alexis Muraco, who redirected a cross in front of the goal, which was sent in from the right wing by sophomore Kristen Colegrove.

Then with under a minute to play, Le Moyne scored the winner as Colegrove struck from 12 yards out, turning and spinning after a receiving a pass in the penalty area from defenseman Heidi Stahl.

Tantum's goal was her 8th of the season and nearly won it for the Falcons. Right back Meagan Iris (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West) won the ball in the attacking half and played a through ball down the right wing to Alyssa Valente (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) that she ran on to.

Valente then played a cross into the box with Tantum running on. Tantum then volleyed it near post into the back of the net to give Bentley the lead. Her 8 goals are the most by a Bentley player in a single-season since Lauren Hobbie-Welch had 8 during the 2003 season and the team still has three matches to play.

Tantum and Valente each had two shots in the first half as the teams played to a 0-0 stalemate after 45 minutes. Falcons goalkeeper Deirdre Macrorie (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) made 6 saves in the first half.

Bentley returns home to play Saint Michael's for Senior Day on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm.
