Tantum, Macrorie Lead Bentley Over Stonehill 1-0

EASTON, Mass. – Forward Ana Tantum (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) scored her 6th goal of the year and goalkeeper Deirdre Macrorie (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) made six saves to lead the Bentley women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Stonehill Tuesday afternoon.

After a scoreless first 45 minutes where Macrorie made three saves, Tantum put Bentley in front in the 64th minute. She took a cross from the right side of the penalty area from freshman Carly Kohler (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) and fired home to give the Falcons the lead.

Macrorie made two of her three second half saves to preserve the lead. One coming in the 66th minute following a shot by Stonehill's Brianna Duserick, and another in 78th minute on a shot by forward Meagan Elliot.

The shutout is Macrorie's 4th of the season and the 6th of her career.

Bentley had three other shots on goal that forced saves of Stonehill keeper Jamie Block. Two by Tantum, coming in the 48th and 90th minutes, and one each by midfielder Anna Siefring (Hopedale, Mass./Hopedale) in the 44th minute and forward Alyssa Valente (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) in the 62nd minute.
