WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior forward Ana Tantum (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) scored two impressive second half goals, but New Haven rallied late to force a 3-3 tie in the team's Northeast-10 match Saturday afternoon.

With the match tied 1-1, Tantum rifled home a shot in the 61^st minute to give Bentley the lead. After making a run down the right wing, she struck from 12 yards out to the far post for her 4^th goal of the season.

Just over five minutes later it was Tantum again. She won the ball off a Bentley throw in in the offensive half, took on her defender and cut into the box. From eight yards out she tucked the shot into the far post to give Bentley a 3-1 advantage in the 66^th minute.

The Chargers though got back in it with a goal from midfielder Sierra Stein, her second of the day, in the 72^nd minute with a chip shot from a difficult angle in the left corner of the penalty area.

As the match wore on Bentley was closing in on the win, only for New Haven to force overtime with just over a minute left. A shot by the Chargers' Marisa Garcia forced Bentley goalie Deirdre Macrorie (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) to make a diving save, only forward Kelly Blank was there to tap-in the rebound to make it 3-3.

Neither team seriously threatened in the 20 minute overtime, though Macrorie made two saves and her New Haven counterpart Deandra Nash made a save on Bentley's Jenny Lewis (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill).

New Haven nearly took the lead in the 13^th minute if not for a tremendous defensive play from freshman left back Meagan Iris (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West). New Haven took a corner that midfielder Rachel Dempsey headed toward goal, only Iris, position on the near post, headed it off the line.

Captain Sam Ford's (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) goal then gave the Falcons a 1-0 advantage in the 29^th minute. After a New Haven foul, Bentley was awarded a free kick from 30 yards out on the left wing, taken by freshman Christine Hoynack (Miami, Fla./Lourdes Academy). Hoynack drilled the kick towards the center of the box, Ford ran on to it and headed into the back of the net from six yards to give Bentley the lead

Bentley (2-3-2, 0-3-1 NE-10) is back in action on Wednesday at 3:30 when they host Southern New Hampshire.
