No. 6 Saint Rose Defeats Bentley 2-0

ALBANY, N.Y. – No. 6 Saint Rose closed out the regular season with a 2-0 victory over the Bentley women's soccer team in Northeast-10 action Saturday afternoon. Forward Morgan Burchhardt had both goals for Saint Rose.

Burchhardt scored the game's first goal in the 24th minute, deflecting in a cross from the left wing by forward Carmelina Puopolo. She scored her second in the 40th minute on a header off a cross from forward Jennifer Busk.

From that point, keepers Deirdre Macrorie (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) and Paige Laliberte (Gilford, N.H./Gilford) kept the Golden Knights off the scoreboard, but Bentley couldn't find the tying goals.

Saint Rose finishes the regular season 11-1-2 and will enter the Northeast-10 Playoffs as the top seed. For Bentley, it was the final game for senior co-captains Patty McAllister (South Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) and Tamzin Ellerbeck (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga). McAllister played in 62 career matches and Ellerbeck 59.
