Adelphi Tops Bentley in Northeast-10 Match

WALTHAM, Mass. – The visiting Adelphi Panthers defeated Bentley 4-0 at a rain soaked Falcons' home field on Saturday in a Northeast-10 matchup. The Panthers attack was led by freshman Jeanine Nunez, who had one goal and one assist.

Prior to the match, Bentley honored its four seniors. Goalkeepers Christiana Hynds (West Roxbury, Mass./Boston Latin) and Nicole Derba (Franklin, Mass./Fontbonne Academy) and co-captains Patty McAllister (South Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) and Tamzin Ellerbeck (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga).

Derba was given the start in goal and played all 90 minutes, Hynds started at forward and McAllister and Ellerbeck both started for the 12st straight game. Derba made five saves on the afternoon.

Nunez scored the first goal for Adelphi in the 5th minute, then setup sophomore Laura Gomez for the second goal in the 27th, feeding Gomez for the goal after dribbling into the box. Adelphi's two second half goals came in the 58th and 66th minutes.

The Falcons are off for the next week, but the return to the pitch next Saturday at Assumption.
