WALTHAM, Mass. – Sophomore Ana Tantum (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull) netted a 47th minute goal, but visiting Franklin Pierce was able to hold off the Bentley women's soccer team 2-1 in a Northeast-10 match on a rainy Wednesday afternoon.

Franklin Pierce jumped out to a 1-0 lead in just the third minute on a goal by junior Hannah Weagle off a corner kick. The corner was taken by midfielder Fernanda Marques, which fell to the turf after no one could get a touch on it initially. McAllister swung the kick in from the right wing to the far post, and sophomore Paige Tetu (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) got on the end of it, only for her shot to go just over the bar.

But Franklin Pierce took the lead back for good on a 66th minute goal by senior Talita Pereira. Junior Kaycee Pereira got the assist after she played a cross into the box that Pereira got on the end of for the goal.

The Falcons will now play their next two matches on the road, starting on Saturday afternoon at Pace. Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm.
