No. 5 Saint Rose Tops Bentley 4-0 in Season-Finale

WALTHAM, Mass. – No. 5 Saint Rose finished the regular season without a loss by defeating Bentley 4-0 Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 women's soccer action. Junior Jourdan Thompson provided two of the goals for the Golden Knights.

Thompson put the visiting Knights on the board in the 11th minute when she headed in a corner kick from freshman Emily Meeks. It was the third straight corner kick of the possession after Bentley cleared the first two.

Bentley continued to hang tough throughout the first half, helped by junior keeper Christiana Hynds (West Roxbury, Mass./Boston Latin) making three saves, and they trailed just 1-0 at the break.

However shortly after halftime Saint Rose made it 2-0 in the 47th minute on a goal by sophomore Michaela Phillips, who volleyed in a cross from senior Sydney Bond. That was the first of two second half assists for Bond.

Thompson added her second goal in the 61st minute, heading in another cross from Bond that she sent in from the right wing to make it 3-0. Senior Allison Schmidt finished the scoring in the 76th minute for Saint Rose.
