Southern Conn Scores Three Straight to Rally Past Bentley, 3-1

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After falling behind 1-0, Southern Connecticut scored three straight goals less than six minutes apart in the second half to take a 3-1 victory over the Bentley women's soccer team in a Northeast-10 match Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Paige Tetu (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) staked the Falcons to a 1-0 lead with her first career goal in the 60th minute.

Bentley held that lead for 15 minutes until junior Hannah Spreckley knotted it up for the Owls in the 75th minute. That set off a run of three goals for the Owls less than six minutes apart to take the lead.

Senior Suzane Pires scored the next two goals in the 77th and 81st minutes to give the Owls a 3-1 advantage.

Southern Conn improves to 6-8-2 overall and 5-6-2 in the Northeast-10 with the win. The Falcons drop to 2-10-2 overall, 1-9-2 in the Northeast-10 with their next game coming Wednesday afternoon at home against Merrimack.
