Bio

Lars Keil is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Bentley University women's lacrosse program.

Keil arrived in Waltham with extensive coaching experience at many levels of lacrosse, including two Division I programs. For the 2017 season, Keil was an assistant coach with the Duke University women's team, where he helped coach the Blue Devils' defense and goalkeeping units. For the 2016 season, Keil was an assistant coach for the Brown University men's team. While on that staff, the Bears had one the finest seasons in program history by advancing to the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament and won the Ivy League regular season title.

Keil also has been an NCAA head coach, when he led the Division II Pfeiffer University men's program for the 2013 season. While in charge of the Pfeiffer program, Keil guided the team to a program best ever record of 12-4. The team was ranked in the top 12 nationally for the entire season, and had three players named All-American. Keil has also had two stints as an assistant coach for the Endicott College men's team from 2013-15 and 2009-11. During that time he guided the Gulls to three league titles and four NCAA Tournament berths while overseeing 13 All-America selections. Keil also assisted in strategic planning for the Endicott program as well as fundraising, budgeting, scheduling, scouting and community service duties. 

Keil played lacrosse collegiately at Springfield College, helping guide the team to three league crowns and three NCAA Tournament appearances. During his time at Springfield, the program advanced as far as the NCAA quarterfinals and captured an ECAC Tournament title. He graduated from Springfield in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in general education, including a focus in physical education, before going on to earn a master’s in athletic administration from Endicott in 2013.
