WEST CHESTER, Pa. – No. 3 ranked West Chester defeated No. 23 ranked Bentley 17-3 in the Falcons' season opener on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Rams were playing their second game of the season after they opened with a win over Shepherd earlier in the week.
Bentley's goals were scored by Maeve Johnson (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury), sophomore Amanda Davis (Saunderstown, R.I./La Salle) and freshman Caitlin Keenan (Victor, N.Y./Victor).
Davis' goal came with one second left in the 1st quarter, assisted by Courtney Dermody (Bedford, N.H./Bedford).
Johnson scored on a free-position shot in the 3rd quarter and Keenan scored at the end of the 4th quarter. Fellow freshman Natalia Dutkewych (Harvard, Mass./Bromfield) on the assist on Keenan's goal as the two combined for their first NCAA points.
Bentley will now prepare for its NE10 opener, which is on Wednesday at AIC.
