Manchester, N.H. – No. 20 ranked Bentley University closed out the regular season with a 19-14 victory at Southern New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon behind big games from goalie Eliza Bresler (Newton, Mass./Newton North) and Julia Glavin (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich) and Caroline Boudreau (Foxborough, Mass./Foxborough).

Bresler made a career high 22 saves and had a 61.1 save percentage on the afternoon, while Glavin and Boudreau each had four goals.

With the win, the Falcons finished the regular season 11-5 overall. In the NE10 they finished 9-4, which is a four-way tie for 3rd place with Assumption and New Haven, whom they beat, and Pace as well. That earned Bentley the No. 4 seed, and they will host the No. 5 seed Assumption in the NE10 quarterfinals on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.

Bentley dominated the start to the 2nd half to pull away after it was a close game at halftime with a 10-8 lead. They outscored the Penmen 8-2 over the first 16 minutes of the 2nd half to take an 18-10 lead.

During the big run Glavin had three goals, but five different players found the back of the net as well. Sophomore Sandrine Heller (Weggis, Switzerland) had one of the goals, and she had three assists, on tallies by Boudreau and freshmen Glenna Gies (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) and Christine Fish (Slingerlands, N.Y./Guilderland).

Heller finished the game with four assists, for a career high five point game.

Senior MaryKate Staines (Gaithersburg, Md./Damascus) also had a big offensive day with two goals, one in each half, and three assists in the first half.

Boudreau scored three of her goals in the first half to help stake Bentley to the 10-8 halftime lead.

Bresler made 13 of her 22 saves in the 2nd half, and earned her 11th win of the season.

Earlier this season, Bentley defeated Assumption 13-12 in a double OT thriller on March 19.
