Glavin Repeats as Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's Julia Glavin (Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich) has repeated as the Northeast-10's women's lacrosse Rookie of the Week, the conference revealed on Tuesday.

Glavin earned her second straight Rookie of the Week award after she helped the Falcons to wins over ranked teams and NE10 rivals Assumption and Stonehill last week. Those victories extended Bentley's winning streak to four games and led to the team debuting in two national Division II polls this week; 20th in the US Lacrosse poll and 24th in the IWLCA poll.

In the two wins last week, Glavin combined for nine goals, 16 draw controls and six ground balls. In a 14-13 road win over Assumption on March 20, she scored four goals and led all players with seven draw controls. Four days later, she notched a game high five goals and nine draw controls to help Bentley defeat Stonehill 10-8.

Two weeks ago Glavin totaled eight goals and 13 draw controls in Bentley wins over New York Tech and AIC to earn NE10 Rookie of the Week honors.

Through five games this season, Glavin leads the team in goals (18), points (20) and draw controls (31).

Bentley will go for its fifth straight win on Wednesday when they host Franklin Pierce at 3:00 pm.
