Bentley Places Seven on IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

WALTHAM, Mass. – Seven players from the Bentley women's lacrosse team earned spots on the IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll for the 2016 season. To qualify for selection, a student-athlete needed to have a grade point average of 3.5 or greater. As a team, the Falcons also qualified as an IWLCA Academic Squad with a combined team GPA of 3.0 or better for the 2015-16 academic year.

The seven Falcons to qualify for the Academic Honor Roll were seniors Meredith Hart (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport), Kelsey Howard (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) and Erin O'Connor (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) and juniors Taylor Lunden (Agawam, Mass./Agawam), Ciara Morley (Irvington, N.Y./Irvington), Tori Rotermund (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) and Ellie Shuman (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North).

All seven helped Bentley to a record breaking 2016 season that saw the team go on an 11 game winning streak, make the Northeast-10 Semifinals after beating Stonehill in the quarterfinals, and finish the season ranked No. 14 in the IWLCA Division II poll.

The IWLCA Honor Roll is the 4th recognition of the postseason for Hart and Howard, who both graduated in May. They were previously named Northeast-10 All-Conference, IWLCA All-North Region and NE-10 All-Academic.

Bentley finished the season 13-6 overall.
