No. 17 Bentley Makes it 8 in a Row, 13-3 over Merrimack

NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – No. 17 ranked Bentley cruised 13-3 over Merrimack for its 8th straight win on Saturday afternoon, which matched the program's longest streak since 2007. Junior Hannah Lindgren (Southborough, Mass./Alongquin) led the offense with three goals and three assists.

The three goals is the fewest allowed this season, as the team improved to 10-5 overall and 8-3 Northeast-10.

Bentley controlled the first half and led 7-1 at halftime as Taylor Lunden (Agawam, Mass./Agawam), Lindgren and Kathleen Gillespie (Topsfield, Mass./Masconomet) each had two goals, and Lindgren notched three assists. That five points by Lindgren was the most points by a Bentley player in a single half this season.

The teams traded a goal each in the early going of the first half, but Bentley surged ahead and never lost the lead after they scored twice during a man-up opportunity, with the goals coming from Gillespie and Ciara Morley (Irvington, N.Y./Irvington). That gave the Falcons a 3-1 lead just over six minutes in.

Later in the half, Lunden scored twice in less than a minute to give Bentley a 6-1 lead at the 11:36 mark.

The offense was balanced in the second half. The six goals the team scored were tallied by six different players.

Junior goalie Lauren Ochs (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequoit) made eight saves to earn her 10th win of the season.

The program record for wins in a row is nine, achieved during the 2000 season. They'll look to match that mark on Wednesday when they travel to Vermont to take on Saint Michael's.
