Brown Leads the Way in Bentley's 17-5 Win over AIC

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior attack Jackie Brown (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) had a seven-point day in leading the Bentley women's lacrosse team to a 17-5 victory over American International in Northeast-10 play Wednesday afternoon.

Brown had four goals and three assists for a career-high seven points. Senior midfielder Carolyn Knyoch (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) and Taylor Bastien (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown) each had two goals and two assists. While Hannah Lindgren (Southborough, Mass./Algonquin), Erin O'Connor (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) and Amy Ernst (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central) all had two goals.

AIC's Brittany Flynn opened the scoring 2:43 into the contest to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead, but Bentley responded by scoring seven unanswered over the next 20 minutes of game time. Brown had three goals during the run and Kynoch had two.

The Yellow Jackets got to within 7-2 on a goal by freshman Jessica Lawler at the 7:03 mark. But Bentley closed the half with goals from O'Connor, freshman Ellie Shuman (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North) and Lindgren to lead 10-2 at halftime.

Bentley continued to pile it on in the second half, building a lead as large as 13 goals at 17-4 after a strike by Ernst with 6:15 left in the game.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 2-3 in NE-10 play and 3-6 overall. They'll take the field again on Saturday afternoon when they visit Southern Connecticut. Game time is 12:00.
