WINTER PARK, Fla. – No. 10 Rollins scored twice in overtime to outlast Bentley in a 16-14 victory Friday afternoon in a non-conference women's lacrosse matchup.
Bentley led by as much as 13-9 with 17:01 left in the second half after a goal by freshman Taylor Lunden (Agawam, Mass./Agawam). But from that point, Rollins scored five of the final six goals in regulation to force overtime. The Falcons took a 14-12 lead with 6:55 remaining after a goal by freshman Ellie Shuman (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North), but Rollins scored at the 2:23 and 1:22 marks to level the score at 14.
In OT, the Tars received a man-up goal from sophomore Angelica Perdomo with 4:55 left in the extra-session to take a 15-14 lead. They then scored for the final time, with the goal coming from junior Alley Rhinehart with 2:03 left in OT.
Lunden and senior Carolyn Kynoch (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) each had four goals for the Falcons. Senior Taylor Bastien (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown) had five assists.
The Falcons return north for their next game, which is Wednesday night at Northeast-10 rival Saint Anselm.
