Geiger, Cerny Lead Women’s Lacrosse to 4th Straight, 20-6 over Franklin Pierce

RINDGE, N.H. – Senior Cori Geiger (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) and freshman Tori Cerny (Olney, Md./Good Counsel) each had six points as the No. 12 Bentley University women's lacrosse team defeated Franklin Pierce 20-6 Saturday afternoon in Northeast-10 action for its fourth victory in a row. They clinch a spot in the Northeast-10 playoffs with the win.

The Falcons put up at least 20 goals for the second straight game after a season-high 22 in Wednesday's win over Southern New Hampshire. They improve to 10-4 on the season and 8-2 in the NE-10 with three games left, though only two are conference games.

Bentley outscored the Ravens 14-4 in the first half and used a 5-0 run in the middle of the half to jump out to an 8-1 lead after just 13 minutes play. Senior Taylor Bastien (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown) had two goals during the run.

A Franklin Pierce goal by midfielder Ashley Lamagdeleine broke up the run at the 15:46 mark to make the score 8-2, but Bentley answered with another long run, this time 4-0, to lead 12-2 with 10 minutes left in the half. Geiger had a goal, and assisted on two goals by junior Jackie Brown (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) as part of the run.

With a 14-4 advantage at halftime, Bentley scored the first three goals of the second half from grad student Megan Wiggins (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough), Cerny and junior Chelsea Larivee (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan). That gave them a 17-4 lead just under the 20 minute mark.

Wiggins and Brown had big games as well with three goals and one assist each, while junior goalie Ally Dorman (Simsbury, Conn/Simsbury) made nine saves for her 10th win of the season.

Bentley will go for five wins in a row on Tuesday when they host Merrimack for Senior Night.
