No. 8 Bentley Wins Fourth Straight, 15-6 over Saint Michael's

WALTHAM, Mass. – Three different players had a hat trick as No. 8 Bentley University rolled to its fourth straight win Tuesday night, defeating Northeast-10 rival Saint Michael's 15-6.

Seniors Taylor Bastien (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown) and Alex Carney (Providence, R.I./The Wheeler School) and junior Chelsea Larivee (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan) had the hat tricks for the victors, while Bastien also had two assists for a game-high five points. Senior Cori Geiger (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) and freshman Erin O'Connor (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) chipped in two assists.

The Falcons took a 6-2 lead into halftime as six different players scored. They opened up a 9-2 lead less than three minutes into the second half as Carney scored twice and Bastien added a goal.

The Purple Knights got to within 9-4 at the 25:22 mark with consecutive goals 40 seconds apart from junior Crystal King and sophomore Courtney Piper. But Bentley responded with a 5-0 run that spanned almost 15 minutes, giving them a 14-4 lead with under 10 minutes to play. The goals came from Bastien, freshman Tori Cerny (Olney, Md./Good Counsel), two from Larivee and junior Alicia Papineau (Hollis, N.H./Hollis-Brookline).

Bentley's last goal of the night to give them a 15-5 lead at the 7:14 mark came from Larivee after goalie Ally Dorman (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) launched a pass from the other end of the field to hit Larivee in stride for the goal. Dorman was given an assist on the play.

The Falcons improve to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the NE-10, while Saint Michael's falls to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the NE-10. Bentley is back in action Thursday night when they host No. 7 Dowling.
