WALTHAM, Mass. – Junior Carolyn Kynoch (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) scored the game winning goal with 50 seconds left in overtime, and junior goalie Ally Dorman (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) made a last second save as No. 9 Bentley University defeated No. 5 Le Moyne 10-9 in overtime Sunday afternoon in  Norrtheast-10 women's lacrosse.

Le Moyne trailed 9-6 with 13:41 remaining in regulation after Bentley's Erin O'Connor (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) scored. But the Dolphins cut the lead to 9-7 with 12:59 remaining on a goal by Kathleen Conese.

The score stayed that way for more than 10 minutes until Le Moyne scored twice in the final 2:16 of regulation to send the game to overtime. Conese scored at the 2:16 mark to make it 9-8, then freshman Maggie Monnat tied it at nine with 1:25 to play.

Le Moyne had the final possession of regulation after a shot by Bentley's Megan Wiggins (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough) was saved by goalie Molly Marbut with 52 seconds left, but did not do anything with it.

In overtime, the team's traded possessions without scoring until Kynoch put Bentley in front with 50 seconds to play in the extra session, with senior Taylor Bastien (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown) on the assist.

Le Moyne then won the ensuing draw control and wound the clock down, setting up for the last shot. A foul on Bentley with 10 seconds left set up a free-position shot for Le Moyne's Brenna Bauer, but Dorman came up with the huge save. Dorman then ran the final seconds off the clock and Bentley held on for the win.

The game went into halftime tied 3-3 after Kynoch scored with just one second left in the first half. The Dolphins scored two of the first three goals in the second half to take a 5-4 lead, but Bentley responded with two straight goals from senior Cori Geiger (Agawam, Mass./Agawam) and Wiggins to lead 6-5 at the 20:37 mark.

Le Moyne tied it three minutes later on a goal by Victoria Nies, but Bentley went on a 3-0 run over the next four minutes to take the 9-6 advantage. Geiger, Bastien and O'Connor had the goals during the run.

Bastien had a game-high six points on two goals and four assists, while Dorman made 10 saves to earn the win.

Bentley, now 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the NE-10, hosts Saint Anselm on Wednesday night.
