WINTER PARK, Fla. – A sudden victory goal by Rollins' Alley Rhinehart with 1:33 left in double overtime gave the fourth-ranked Tars a hard-fought 12-11 victory over No. 9 Bentley University in a non-conference women's lacrosse game Monday night.

With the score tied at 11 after the first six minutes of overtime did not produce a winner, Rhinehart converted a Bentley turnover in their own end into the winning goal. The win is the fifth straight for Rollins to begin the young season, while the Falcons were playing their first game.

Bentley took an 11-9 lead late in the second half after two straight goals from junior Chelsea Larivee (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan). She scored first with 4:02 remaining to break a 9-9 tie, then scored again 36 seconds later to give them a two goal lead.

But Rollins scored twice in the final 1:37 to send the game into overtime. Sophomore Chelsea Pinneke got them to within 11-10 with 1:37 remaining in regulation, then senior Erica Pagliarulo tied it up with 31 seconds to go.

Bentley also led 9-7 with 8:26 left in regulation after a goal by grad student Megan Wiggins (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough), the second of two straight Falcon goals, but Rollins tied it at nine with two straight of their own.

Bentley had trailed 5-1 after 18 minutes of the first half, but a 5-0 run over the final 11:02 of the half gave them a 6-5 lead heading into the break. The run was bookended by goals from senior Taylor Bastien (North Kingstown, R.I./North Kingstown) and junior Carolyn Kynoch (Ashland, Mass./Ashland).

Junior goalie Ally Dorman (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) made 16 saves for Bentley, while junior Elyse De Lisle made nine stops for Rollins.

Bentley plays the second game of its season opening Florida trip on Friday against Lenoir-Rhyne at 11:00 am.
