WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior center Victoria Lux (Arundel, Maine/Thornton Academy) scored a season-high 21 points and classmate Amy McConnell (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) followed with 20 points and seven assists as the Bentley University women's basketball once again reached the 20-win threshold with a 77-59 win over Stonehill College in Northeast-10 Conference action Wednesday night at the Dana Center.

It's the 34th time in program history and the 30th time in Barbara Stevens' 33 years at the helm that the Falcons have amassed at least 20 wins. Bentley, ranked 15th in Division II, improved to 20-2 overall and maintained a three-game lead in the NE10's Northeast Division with a 14-1 conference record.

There were six lead changes in an opening quarter that ended with Bentley up 22-20. McConnell led the way with eight points and a pair of assists and junior guard Julia Ford (Charlton/ Noble and Greenough) buried the Falcons' fourth triple of the stanza for a 22-18 lead.

Bentley gradually built the lead during the second quarter and went to the halftime locker room up eight, 39-31, following a buzzer-beating basket from senior guard Megan Lewis (Sevenoaks, England).

The Falcons' third quarter lead peaked at 13, 60-47, following a 9-2 spurt that included three-balls sunk by junior guard Maddy Springfield (Jaffrey, N.H./Conant HS) and McConnell.

After Stonehill scored the final four of the third to draw within nine, Bentley blanked the Skyhawks (15-6, 10-4 NE10) over the first 3:40 of the fourth to open a 15-point advantage, 66-51. That included four points from Lux and two from Lewis.

Lux did much of her damage at the foul stripe, making nine of 13. She collected eight rebounds and also contributed four blocks and three assists.

McConnell came within one of her career bests in both points and assists on a night she buried four of six three-pointers.

Bentley also received nine points from Lewis, eight from Springfield and seven from Ford.

Freshman forward Kayla Raymond (Easton) led Stonehill with 16 points and three rebounds.

Bentley made 9 of 17 three-pointers and shot 45 percent overall while limiting the Skyhawks to 31 percent, including just 2 of 17 in the fourth quarter. The Falcons doubled the visitors in free throws, 18-9, and had a 47-38 rebound advantage.

Next on the agenda for the Falcons is a Saturday afternoon game at Assumption College.
