WALTHAM, Mass. – Only twice this season has the Bentley University women's basketball team left the court without a victory, last Wednesday against Stonehill and back on Dec. 6 against Southern New Hampshire.

The Falcons will get a chance to avenge the latter loss on Wednesday when they travel to Manchester, N.H. for a 5:30 pm encounter with SNHU. The game will be televised nationally by Fox College Sports and a live stream will also be available at https://www.youtube.com/user/snhupenmen.

Bentley, which slipped from third to seventh in this week's WBCA Division II national coaches poll, is coming off an 86-70 win over Assumption Saturday, a game that kept the Falcons a game back of Stonehill in the Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division standings with five to play.

That victory boosted coach Barbara Stevens' team to 20-2 overall, marking the 32nd time in the last 35 years that the winningest program in Division II women's basketball history has reached the 20-win mark, and 14-2 NE10.

Southern New Hampshire nearly did the Falcons a favor on Saturday but came up just short in a 49-48 loss to Stonehill. That halted a two-game winning streak and dropped the Penmen to 14-8 overall and 9-5 conference.

In the first meeting, Bentley seemed well on its way to victory, carrying a 61-51 lead into fourth quarter. The Falcons still led by nine with 4:00 on the clock before the Penmen closed with a stunning 16-2 run to gain a 73-68 win.

Bentley totaled just seven fourth-quarter points while making only 3 of 17 shot attempts. That was very uncharacteristic for a Falcon team that has averaged over 19 points in its other fourth quarters this season.

Junior center Victoria Lux (Arundel, Maine/Thornton Academy), Bentley's leading scorer in the first SNHU game (14), has elevated her team-leading point-per-game mark to 14.2 after averaging 16.8 over the last six. She's also number one on the team in rebounds (9.5) and blocks (21).

The team's other double-figure scorers are graduate guard Becca Musgrove (Plainview, N.Y./ St. Anthony's HS) and senior guard Lauren Green (Damascus, Md./Damascus HS) at 12.0 and 10.4, respectively. Musgrove has been playing her best basketball of the season, averaging 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and two steals over the last four games with a .643 field goal percentage.

Junior forward Megan Lewis (Sevenoaks, England) scored in doubles for the first time this season on Saturday, finishing with 11 points. She's averaged 8.3 points the last three games on 7-of-14 shooting.

SNHU features junior forward Kylie Lorenzen, who powered the Penmen with 27 points in the first Bentley game. She's been a thorn in the side for the Falcons during her career, averaging 19 points and 10 rebounds with three double-doubles in five previous meetings.

Lorenzen is currently in the top four in the conference in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 18.4 points and 8.2 boards. Senior guard Catherine Stinson follows her on the scoring list at 8.2.
