WALTHAM, Mass. – It'll be a rare home game for the Bentley University women's basketball team Saturday afternoon when the Falcons put their number seven Division II national ranking and five-game winning streak on the line against The College of Saint Rose.

Tip-off for Bentley's only Dana Center appearance in a seven-game, 38-day stretch is set for 1:30 pm with a free webcast available at www.bentleyfalcons.tv.

Bentley, 13-1 overall and 7-1 Northeast-10, has played its last four on the road, including three straight in New York, and will be looking at trips to American International and New Haven this coming week after facing the Golden Knights.

In their most recent contest, the Falcons gave Women's Basketball Hall of Fame coach Barbara Stevens her 996th career victory, 71-59 at Le Moyne College Wednesday night.

The two halves could not have been more different. After being held to 18 points and a .259 field goal percentage before the break, the Falcons erupted for 53 points during a second-half shooting exhibition.  Bentley's 19-for-29 after intermission featured eight three-pointers in nine attempts with six different players connecting from downtown.

Against the Dolphins, senior guard Lauren Green (Damascus, Md./Damascus HS) drilled four three-pointers and junior post Victoria Lux (Arundel, Maine/Thornton Academy) produced her eighth double-double of the season, 16 points and 13 rebounds. Grad student Becca Musgrove (Plainview, N.Y./St. Anthony's HS) matched Green's 13 points and also had four steals.

The above three are Bentley's three double-digit scorers for the season with Lux topping the list at 14.1 points and 10 boards. Musgrove, a Brown transfer, has an 11.4 scoring norm and 29 steals, and Green's three-point mark is up to .421 after she's made 9 of 17 in the last two games.

As a team, Bentley tops the conference in numerous statistical categories, including points scored (79.3) and fewest allowed (55.6). Much of that differential is due to the team's success with the three with Falcons having outscored their opponents by 15 points a game from downtown. Stevens' team has buried 127 while allowing only 55 triples.

Saint Rose snapped a four-game slide on Wednesday with a 73-54 win over St. Michael's and will come into Saturday's encounter at 6-7 overall (4-3 Northeast-10).

In contrast to the Falcons, the Golden Knights have been outscored significantly from deep as they've made only 45, including 18 by junior guard Ashley Vanderwall. On the other hand, their opponents have made 102, an average of nearly eight a game.

Vanderwall leads Saint Rose in scoring, averaging 11.9 points. Junior forward Karissa Birthwright follows at 10.7, and six-one sophomore Leah Dollard comes off the bench to pitch in with 9.2 points per game.

Fans should note that the game at AIC midweek will be played on Wednesday, not on Tuesday as it was listed on some schedules.
