WALTHAM, Mass. – After completing the non-conference portion of the schedule with an unblemished 6-0 record, the nationally-ranked Bentley University women's basketball team will begin a stretch of seven straight games against teams from the Northeast-10's Southwest Division Wednesday at Le Moyne College.

Bentley, number seven in the most recent WBCA Division II national coaches poll, will make the trip west for its fourth straight road contest with a four-game winning streak and a 12-1 overall record. The Falcons, who share first in the NE10's Northeast Division with Stonehill College, are coming off a 66-42 win at Molloy College Saturday, the 995th victory for coach Barbara Stevens in her illustrious career.

Bentley will be taking on a Le Moyne team that has won three straight to improve to 7-5 overall. The Dolphins are off to a 3-3 start in conference action and are 3-1 at home.

In the Molloy win, senior guard Lauren Green (Damascus, Md./Damascus HS) and sophomore forward Monica Viapiano (Holden/Holy Name HS) combined for 33 points for the Falcons.

Green scored 17 in total and with a trio of three-pointers in the first quarter, outscored the Lions for the first 9:58. A 40-percent shooter from deep for the second straight year, she matched her season-highs for points and three-pointers (5).

Viapiano provided 16 points, five rebounds and three blocks in 17 minutes off the bench while not missing a shot. In addition to making all six from the floor, she added four free throws in as many attempts.

Green (11.2) and Viapiano (8.5) are two of six players on a deep Falcon team who are scoring at least seven a game. Junior post Victoria Lux (Arundel, Maine/Thornton Academy) tops the list at 13.9, and she also leads the team in rebounds (9.8), blocks (15), field goal percentage (.503) and free throws (33).

Lux and Green have started all 13 games, as have grad student Becca Musgrove (Plainview, N.Y./St. Anthony's HS) and senior forward Cassie Smith (Edison, N.J./Metuchen HS). Musgrove is second in scoring (11.3) and steals (25) while Smith's 5.9 rebound average also ranks second.

Rounding out the usual starting five is senior guard Macchi Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward School), who provides 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.1 steals a game.

Le Moyne features sophomore guard McKayla Roberts, the most accurate three-point shooter in the conference at 45 percent. She averages 14.5 points and is one of only two NE10 players producing at least 14 points and four assists.

Bentley finished the month of December leading the Northeast-10 in numerous categories, including scoring (79.9) and points allowed (55.4). Le Moyne has been the third stingiest at 58.0, but is 11th in offense at 63.2. The last two games marked the first time that the Dolphins have scored over 70 in consecutive contests this season.

After returning from Syracuse, Bentley will prep for its first Dana Center appearance in four weeks, Saturday afternoon against The College of Saint Rose (1:30 pm).
