WALTHAM, Mass. – Undefeated this season and in its 15 Dana Center appearances in 2017, the Bentley University women's basketball team will be back at home Wednesday night for a 5:30 pm encounter with Southern New Hampshire University. Bentley, ranked third in Division II again this week, improved to 8-0 overall and 4-0 Northeast-10 with Saturday's 81-47 win at St. Michael's, a game the Falcons led from the opening basket. They've outscored their opponents by 28.5 points a game overall, fifth best nationally, and have won the last three by 40, 64 and 34.

In the last two games, Bentley has dominated the first quarter, outscoring Franklin Pierce 40-12 and St. Michael's 26-7 while holding the two teams to a combined 7 of 26 shooting.

Southern New Hampshire, 5-3 overall, has won five of its last six and is tied for second in the NE10, a half-game back of Bentley.

Women's Basketball Hall of Fame coach Barbara Stevens, who is nine victories away from 1,000 for her storied career, has spread the minutes around this season with only four players averaging as many 20 a game. Grad student and guard Becca Musgrove (Plainview, N.Y./St. Anthony's HS) tops the list at 24.3, and backcourt mate Macchi Smith (Los Angeles, Calif./ Windward School) follows at 23.3.

Junior forward Victoria Lux (Arundel, Maine/Thornton Academy) leads the team in scoring (14.1) and rebounding (10.5) as she is one of only four NE10 players averaging a double-double, despite playing only 21.4 minutes a game. Her 21-point, 12-rebound effort at St. Michael's was her fourth double-double of the season.

Bentley's other double-digit scorers are Musgrove (11.8), senior guard Lauren Green (Damascus, Md./Damascus HS) and freshman forward Marissa Fontaine (Franklin/Bishop Feehan HS). The next three-pointer for Green (11.1 ppg) will be the 200th of her career, and Fontaine (10.3) leads the conference in accuracy from deep at .450 (18 of 40). She's also third in number of threes made.

Sophomore forward Monica Viapiano (Holden/Holy Name HS) has posted back-to-back double-doubles off the bench for the Falcons. She had 18 and 10 in 19 minutes against Franklin Pierce and 13 and 13 in 20 minutes in the St. Michael's game.

As a team, Bentley leads the NE10 in most offensive categories, including scoring with the team's 83.9 average 12th best in Division II.

Southern New Hampshire, which is already closing in on its NE10 win count from a year ago when the Penmen were 6-15 in conference play, is coming off a 53-40 win over Assumption. They held the Greyhounds to 25 percent shooting and just 27 points during the first three quarters.

Junior forward Kylie Lorenzen is having a strong season for SNHU, averaging over 19 points and nine rebounds.  She had 27 recently against Saint Anselm and is shooting 51 percent overall.

Senior guard Catherine Stinson is next on the scoring list for the Penmen, averaging 9.6 a game. About half her scoring has come by making 13 of 29 three-pointers, an accuracy mark of .448 (second best in the conference).

Bentley's final home game of 2017 will be Saturday, 1:30 against Saint Anselm. Prior to the game, former Falcon Danielle Chaisson will be recognized for her recent induction into the NE10 Hall of Fame.
